ALBANY, N.Y. -- The man who drove off from a traffic stop and crashed killing his passenger last month in Albany is now facing new charges.

Terrance Kelly was arraigned in Albany County Court Friday morning on charges of manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, and operating under the influence.

He pleaded not guilty to all three charges. Members of his family watched as he was brought into the courtroom in handcuffs.

Police say last month, Kelly crashed a car into a tree at the intersection of Western and Lenox Avenues in Albany after driving away from a traffic stop.

One of his passengers, 25-year-old William Yager the fourth, was killed.

Kelly and another passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Because Terrance Kelly has two prior felony convictions, and is now facing two new felonies, he was not granted bail.

He is being held at the Albany County Jail. Kelly next court appearance is scheduled for next Wednesday.
