TROY, N.Y. -- About 8,000 people enjoyed the third annual Enchanted City Steampunk Festival this Saturday in Troy.

Festival goers dressed in costumes that combined Victorian and technological elements.

Activities included a fashion show, a culinary challenge of local restaurants and a vehicle building competition.

"I think that there is this new renaissance and whenever that happens in a community it usually starts with the artists, with the makers they are the one that begin this kind of movement and we have so many here that are so brilliant and talented, I just decided to bring them all together on one day to make something like this possible," festival producer Susan Dunckel said.

Troy's industrial past makes the city a great venue for steampunk.
