ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York State Police said Wednesday that a man found Friday in the roadway of Interstate 90 jumped out a car during a fight with his girlfriend.

Troopers were called to the westbound lanes between exits 6 and 5A around 1 a.m. Friday for a man laying in the middle of the road.

Troopers said Zachary Sasz was having a fight with his girlfriend in a car on the highway. Sasz, 25, then intentionally jumped out of the vehicle and landed in the road.  He was found by other drivers and later died from his injuries.

Police say Sasz's girlfriend re-gained control of the vehicle, kept driving and did not go back for him. At this time, no charges have been filed, and police are asking anyone who may have seen something between the hours of 12:30 and 1 a.m. to contact them.
