Price Chopper announced it is focusing on consolidating, outsourcing and eliminating administrative work at its headquarters in Schenectady.
About 47 people will be affected. The grocery store chain currently employs 22,000 workers, with an additional 700 added on as part of its new Market 32 stores.
Company executives say they are focusing on running a more "lean and efficient" administration support team while investing in those new stores.
