The unofficial results are in for the Albany High School project.

Yes votes numbered 4,061, and 3,833 voted no on the $180 million high school renovation plan. Turnout was much larger than expected, and some people had to wait in huge lines to cast their vote.

Albany County Legislator Chris Higgins says the Hackett polling place ran out of ballots, and people had to write their votes down on paper and put them in sealed envelopes. Albany City Schools apologized online for any inconveniences residents may have experienced due to the extremely high turnout.

The board will have to tally affidavit votes Wednesday before official numbers are given on the proposal.

This is a revote on the project. The original, more expensive plan was shot down by voters in November.
