ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- The Mohonasen School District was placed on lock down Wednesday afternoon, after a man called 911 saying he heard two men making threats toward students in the high school's parking lot.

Police searched the schools, found nothing, and the lockout was lifted. Just ten minutes after that 911 call, the Trustco Bank on West Campbell Road was robbed.

Police are investigating the possibility that the 911 call at the school was placed in an attempt to divert police from the robbery.

Surveillance pictures that showing man wearing a dark colored puffy coat, a Yankees baseball hat, sunglasses and a face mask. He demanded money, and ran away with the cash.

Police say he's about  5'9" and around 30 years old. Anyone with information is asked to contact Rotterdam Detectives at 355-7397.
