ALBANY, N.Y. – With Veteran’s Day this Wednesday, local employers are giving vets the opportunity to explore potential jobs in the future.
This is the first-ever Capital Region Extension of VOWS Resource Fair, which allows veterans and their families to learn about benefit programs and how to find post-military employment.
Veterans will also discover how the skills they acquired from their service can be utilized in the business world.
“The veterans bring forth hard work, great work ethic, team focus, collaboration and I think all of that along with leadership skills are really important today in jobs,” Ayco President and CEO Tim O’Hara said.
The Capital Region Extension of VOWS is affiliated with the Manhattan-based Veterans on Wall Street, which is backed by Goldman Sachs.
More than 50 employers are participating in Monday’s event and the presentations are free to attend and run until 3:30 p.m. at the Desmond Hotel.
