LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. --Fire Crews responded to the A&W off route 9 early Sunday morning. The Lake George Fire Department says more than 20 firefighters worked to put out the fire, which they believe started in the kitchen area. It's a building that's been in Lake George since 1959, and owned by the same person since the 1970s. Many community members spent Sunday figuring out how they can help the Owner.

I've loved to go there since I was a kid it is a disappointing thing to see that it burned, hopefully they will be able to rebuild and get back open again cause I know a lot of people are pretty devastated at losing a landmark here in lake George," says Lake George Fire Department Chief, Jason Berry.

Fire officials say there was no one in the building during the fire, and that it is a total loss.
