The Schenectady mother charged with the disappearance and apparent death of her infant son appeared in court Wednesday — only to learn her case is now headed to county court.

A grand jury has returned an indictment against Heaven Puleski.

Earlier this month, she was charged with concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a child.

Court documents claim she was using heroin while caring for her son, 4-month-old Rayen Puleski.

Police say a body consistent with that of a young child was found behind Heaven's State Street apartment earlier this month.

Prosecutors say they believe the remains are Rayen's — but police are still waiting for tests to be completed before officially confirming it.

Police are also waiting for the autopsy to be completed to determine the cause of death.
