Heaven Puleski appeared in Schenectady City Court this afternoon for a preliminary hearing. The hearing was postponed to next Wednesday afternoon.

Last week, Puleski was arraigned and charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor in connection with her 4-month-old son Rayen’s disappearence. According to court documents, Heaven is charged with concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Family alerted Schenectady police two weeks ago when they called for a welfare check. Just days later, police found a body consistent with that of a child’s behind a State Street apartment.

While prosecutors believe that body is Rayen, police are still not confirming its identification until an autopsy is complete.

Wednesday's court appearance follows what have been an incredibly emotional and busy last few days for family members. There was a vigil over the weekend for the child in front of the State Street apartment. The family is also asking people to sign an online petition in hopes of eventually passing a law in which no parent can have custody of their child if they are using drug or if they are a drug addict.

Court documents say Puleski used heroin while taking care of Rayen.
