A 29-year-old man died after a stabbing, which happened about one hour after a separate quadruple shooting, less than a mile away, according to Albany Police as they investigate both incidents.

The deadly stabbing happened inside an Orange Street apartment around 2:20 a.m. Thursday. The victim was stabbed in the torso and pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said that the victim -- identified Friday as 29-year-old Rashaun Byrd of Albany -- and the suspect knew one another.

Four people were shot on Lexington Avenue around 1:15 a.m., and police said one victim was hit in the arm, another in the ear, and two other people were hit in the legs. They're all expected to recover.

Police said all four people shot were "highly uncooperative with police."
