GLENVILLE, N.Y. — A Schenectady man is facing several charges after police say he led them on a high speed chase with children in the car.

Glenville police say several agencies tried to stop the car as it traveled from Montgomery County into their jurisdiction Sunday night.

They say the car reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour on I-890 East before crashing into a guide rail near the High Bridge Road exit.

There were three children in the car at the time, ages ranging from 8 months to 6 years old — they were not injured. Neither was a female passenger.

The driver, 22-year-old John Sanchez of Schenectady, was taken into custody.

He is charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing from police, and other charges.
