BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The leaders of an alleged cult, based in the Capital Region, appeared again in court Friday. One of the most notable things coming from the court appearance is that more people may be facing charges.

The lawyers for Keither Raniere, the man that founded NXIVM, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Both Raniere and actress Allison Mack are facing sex trafficking and forced labor charges.

Mack previously entered a not guilty plea and is believed to be negotiating a possible plea deal.

Both are accused of conspiring to recruit females into a so-called self-empowerment group.

According to prosecutor Moira Penza, there will be a superseding indictment.

That means additional charges will be brought against not yet named individuals.

As for Raniere and Mack, their trial is scheduled for October 1, pending plea deals.
