Jason Sachs, who was the building manager at 104 Jay Street which caught fire March 6, 2015, pleaded guilty to four counts of criminally neglegent homicide.

The Schenectady County District Attorney confirms that, as part of the plea deal, Sachs will serve one to three years in state prison.

Prosecutors alleged that Sachs allowed the fire alarm to fall into disrepair at least a month before the fire, which killed four people.

The trial of Kenneth Tyree, the code enforcement officer who inspected the building a day before the fire, is scheduled to begin in February.
