A Saratoga Springs man was indicted on animal cruelty charges Wednesday.

Aaron Brinkley, 30, is accused of beating a Boston Terrier to death with a hammer in a home on Quiet Harbor Drive. 

Prosecutors say they made the gruesome discovery of the dead dog back in October, when Brinkley sought medical attention for a dog bite.

He could face 1 and a half to 4 years in prison if convicted.
