At least eight of the nine people arrested after the raid of an unrecognized frat house at the College at Brockport pleaded not guilty Friday.

They are facing charges like hazing, assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance and animal cruelty.

All of the suspects are affiliated with the unsanctioned fraternity just off the Brockport campus, known as "The Delt."

Prosecutors say pledges were made to kill and torture rats, not allowed to show or go outside except for classes and food, and encouraged to drink heavily.

The college says six of those charged are current students.

Police say they acted on numerous tips about the house on Monroe Avenue.

Code enforcement is also involved, however people are still living in the house.
