SLINGERLANDS, N.Y. — A Slingerlands man is facing several charges after authorities say he held a woman against her will and sexually assaulted her. 

The Albany County Sheriff's Office says 45-year-old Gary Graffunder was fighting with the victim when he allegedly hit her in the head. 

Authorities say Graffunder choked her, and sexually assaulted her after she refused to have sex with him. 

Graffunder was arrested and faces several charges including aggravated criminal contempt, criminal sexual act, assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. 

He's being held at the Albany county correctional facility pending arraignment.
