This year's Assembly races saw several incumbents lose their seats. Those upsets won't impact the balance of power in the chamber, where Democrats have a supermajority. But it does mean new faces at the capitol in January, all of whom will be bringing a new perspective. 

Democrat Karen McMahon defeated Republican Assemblyman Ray Walter for the 146th district seat.
