Mandatory mental health education is now being implemented in schools across the state. It is good because according to the Mental Health Association of New York, nearly a quarter of youth experience serious mental illness. But according to the NYS PTA, there is a lack of resources in both terms of funding and professional support. This is one of the areas the PTA would like to see addressed during the upcoming legislative session.
