The Senate Democratic Conference will have several new members next year because seven incumbents lost primaries earlier this month, mostly former members of the breakaway Independent Democratic Conference.

The challengers ran on very progressive agendas in Democrat-dominated districts.

But the Party is also hoping to pick up more moderate seats currently held by Republicans.

And that means the Conference needs to figure out how the new members will fit in, and tell voters what the 2019 agenda is.

Senator Mike Gianaris chairs the Senate Democrats' campaign efforts.
