There's an ongoing debate over the state's use of taxpayer money for economic development efforts, but a lot of investmen happens at the local level, through industrial development authorities.

And those are subject to oversight from the state's Authorities Budget Office- but there's still not a lot of transparency.

The ABO is working on changing that by requiring IDA's to post more information about local projects online.

Today the agency held a hearing on the proposed regulations.
