New York's Department of Environmental Conservation denied requests to renew the air quality permit for Competitive Power Ventures, a fracked-gas power plant situated in the Town of Wawayanda.

You may recall the plant was at the center of the corruption trial for ex-Cuomo aide Joe Percoco, whose wife was employed by CPV in a 'low-show' job.

But for Orange County environmentalists, this was a big victory in fighting the plant's impact on the natural world.
