Housing advocates from Rochester met with a top Cuomo administration official this week to push for legislation to reduce evictions and increase the supply of affordable units.

The City-Wide Tenant Union of Rochester says recent development in the city has exacerbated the problem, with an average of forty eviction hearings happening each day.

So they recently held a sit-in at the governor's Rochester office, which lead to the invitation to Albany.
