The first of two Assembly Health Committee hearings on medical aid in dying was held at the state Capitol on Monday. The controversial legislation would require two doctors to approve the use of life-ending medication if a terminally ill person wants it. People on both sides of this very sensitive debate have strong views, and joining us to explain support for making it legal in New York are Susan Rahn, who has stage four breast cancer, Myra Shulman, whose mother died from colon cancer and took advantage of California's law, and, Corinne Carey of Compassion and Choices New York.
