The Alzheimer's Association's New York State coalition is getting a very big check from the state Department of Health. That will go toward helping the 400,000 New Yorkers currently living with the disease. That number is also expected to rise by 18 percent by 2025, according to the coalition. And there is also a big economic impact to dealing with Alzheimer's because of the amount of care patients need, much of which comes from spouses or family members. Joining us to talk more about the new funding are Jane Ginsburg, the coalition's executive director, and Elizabeth Boivin of the Northeast New York chapter.
