The state budget could potentially include several measures that will impact transportation across the state, but especially in New York City, where nearly half of state legislators are from. So an agreement on those issues could be key to the whole thing. The ones we have heard the most about are funding for the MTA and congestion pricing for Manhattan. But now there is a new proposal for where to get that extra funding that has city officials concerned. Meanwhile, the city's department of transportation is pushing for design-build authorization to reduce the cost of infrastructure projects.
