Disability rights groups are making a big push to increase employment opportunites this year. One way the state does that is through the preferred sources procurement program, which basically makes it easier for companies that meet certain hiring requirements to get state contracts. New York State Industries for the Disabled is the non-profit that certifies that businesses meet the standards and connects them with government agencies. Members of the program say it has been a big success, but it is time for some updates.
