Residents and state and local lawmakers in the Adirondacks and Catskills are expressing opposition to the governor's proposal to change the way the state pays taxes on land it owns in the parks. Cuomo wants the state to pay a set amount every year instead of paying by the assessed values. But people worry that this would shift more of the property tax burden on to private property tax payers. Matt Simpson, President of the Adirondack Association of Towns and Villages, explains.
