Improving New York City subway service is a big priority for many downstate lawmakers this session, so they will be pushing for increased funding for the MTA. That is of course the largest transit agency in the state. But many upstate cities also have transportation authorities, and they are also hoping for help from the state to improve service and grow ridership. Carm Basile, head of the Capital District Transportation Authority and former president of the New York Public Transportation Association, joins us to discuss.
