While many education advocates say the Excelsior Scholarship is a step in the right direction for making college affordable for New Yorkers, members of United University Professions say there is still more to be done. The union says it will push for reimbursement funding for SUNY schools to off-set any revenue losses caused by the Excelsior Scholarship. They also want the state to pay the full cost of TAP grants for students at state-operated campuses. UUP President Fred Kowal joins me now to discuss this and other priorities for the new year.
