It has now been six months since the state officially launched the medical marijuana program. According to the Department of Health's website, as of June 28th, 609 physicians have registered for the program and 5,293 patients have been certified by their doctors. 17 of the 20 dispensaries are open and operating. The state's website only says the other three dispensaries are "opening soon." There have been a lot of questions about the availability and cost of medical marijuana to patients, and the background information of the five companies who received the licenses.
