The state Assembly on Wednesday held a public hearing to examine the causes, risk factors and impact of poverty among senior citizens. This comes after a report released reveals the Elder Economic Insecurity Rates in New York state. Fifty-eight percent of elder retired households live in economic insecurity, and those who live alone or are women are even more likely to live in insecurity.
