Last month, a wage board appointed by Governor Cuomo suggested a minimum wage hike for fast food workers to $15 an hour. That was a controversial move, with some saying fast food workers didn't deserve the raise. Others criticized the governor's ability to use executive action for the move. Senator John DeFrancisco has a bill that would prevent Cuomo - or any future governor - from appointing another wage board, saying the legislature should be at the center of any increase in the minimum wage.
