Nearly half of the water samples taken in the town of Petersburgh would qualify for a PFOA filtration system, according to a report released Monday on water sampled from 50 homes.

All the homes were within a half mile of Taconic Plastics.

Twenty of the 50 had levels above the EPA standard of 100 parts per trillion, with the highest result at 2,100 parts per trillion.

Under an agreement with Taconic, water sources with those results qualify for a water filter to be installed in their home by the company.
