BUFFALO, N.Y. —  The father of Buffalo's 36th homicide victim of the year is speaking out.

"It's hard,” said Alan Collins, father of Santana Anderson. “This has been the hardest death of my life.”

Collins says his 26 year-old daughter was an innocent bystander in Saturday’s shooting on Hagen Street.

Anderson and friends were sitting on a porch went bullets went flying just before 11 p.m.

According to her family, Anderson tried to take cover behind an SUV in the driveway, but was hit in the head by a bullet.

A 36-year-old woman was also shot and is expected to recover, according to police.

“Two kids do not have a mother and now the grandmother is going to have to raise them," said Collins.

City Councilman Rasheed Wyatt is calling on the re-evaluation of the Buffalo Police Strike force. The disbanded unit targeted gangs, drugs and gun violence, but has been accused of discrimination by some groups.

"I Know that people protested against strike force in the past, but I'm just calling for something to be done, that people need to know what are we going to do," said Wyatt.
