Local cab companies sat down with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown to discuss what they call an unfair playing field when competing against ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft.

One item brought up during the meeting was different regulations for pricing and insurance requirements.

Taxi companies also expressed anger about exclusive ride-hailing pickups zones, like the one near KeyBank Center.

A spokesperson for Liberty Cab says Mayor Brown sounded open-minded on some of their concerns and they remain hopeful he will work to level the playing field.

A request for comment submitted to a city spokesperson was not immediately returned.
