A North Tonawanda man is in jail after stabbing a relative in the neck.

Cory J. Ochterski, 40, was riding in a vehicle with a relative Saturday when he stabbed the relative in the neck.

When the victim stopped the vehicle on Tonawanda Creek Road in Pendleton, Ochterski got out and ran away.

The victim was able to drive himself to DeGraff Memorial Hospital. He was later transported to ECMC, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

Amherst police later found Ochterski after a resident called in with a complaint of a suspicious man.

Ochterski is facing first- degree assault charges for the attack and is due in court on Friday.
