The Amherst Town Board won’t be making a decision on the future of the Westwood Country Club just yet.

Instead of voting on a generic environmental impact statement during a meeting Monday night, the board that statement to include information received that day.

The impact study is the second-to-last step needed to be completed before the project can move forward.

Included in the proposed master plan for redevelopment of the former country club are apartments, townhomes and townhouses in addition to green space and a commercial neighborhood center.

The impact study is expected to present concerns about sewer capacity and traffic implications.

Stanley Silwa, the town attorney, says the company looking to redevelop the property has not yet started the rezoning process.

The board is expected to review the 288-page document and present its findings at a meeting December 11.
