The North Park Library in Buffalo keeps growing.

A ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning showed off the renovations made to the library on Hertel Avenue in the Kohl’s plaza, including a new meeting room and new children’s area.

The library moved to the Hertel Avenue location less than a decade ago from its original location at Hertel and Delaware.

With 50,000 visitors in 2016, the library needed a little more room, according to Mary Jean Jakubowski, director of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System. The library acquired a vacant storefront and now boasts 5,000 square feet of space.

Starting in November, the library will be open five days each week.
