STAFFORD, N.Y. -- A woman is seriously hurt after she was hit by a car in Genesee County Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies say she was walking along Route 33 in Stafford when she was hit and the impact threw her into a ditch.
They say the driver, 23-year-old Katelyn Brown, of Brockport, then went off the road and hit a utility pole. Brown was unhurt.
When they got on scene, deputies say Brown tried to lie about hitting the woman.
She faces several charges, including aggravated unlicensed operation.
She was turned over to Ogden Police on an unrelated warrant.
