Four-seed Victor seems to be back on the upswing after knocking off five-seed Eastridge 44-14.

The Blue Devils were expected to be a contender in Class A, ranking as high as number three in the state polls. Loses to Irondequoit and Canandaigua knocked them back to 23.

But it seems the Blue Devils have found a new energy in the postseason. The run game was outstanding Friday night, with explosive plays from Joey Pezzimenti and Rushawn Baker.

Pezzimenti opened up scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run for the Blue Devils. Barker added a 31-yard score in the second quarter.

The run game couldn't have been as strong as it was without the offensive line. The Blue Devils front were a solid group against Eastridge.

Victor also looked very strong on special teams. The Blue Devils have found a reliable kicker in Sam Castiglia, who added his fourth field goal of the season.

Baker rushed for another long touchdown, this time 50-yards in the second quarter. After another Pezzimenti score it was 31-0 Victor at the half.

Eastridge stuck with it until the end, as they have all season. After starting the season 1-2, the Lancers were able to clean up penalties and mistakes to pull off four straight. Not a bad start for first year head coach Jasson Jobson, earning a 5-seed in a tough Class A.

Overall the Lancers should be proud of the campaign they put together. And good news, both Lancers who found the endzone in this one return next season. Matthew Brantley and Jalen Rose Hannah are both in their junior year.

Our Spectrum Sports Player of the Game might not have had a career game, but it was certainly the toughest of his young career. Victor junior Camden Hay made the tough decision to play in this week's game, despite his dad being involved in a car accident earlier in the week. Tim Hay and his wife were unable to attend as he received treatment in an Ohio hospital.

Hay added a rushing touchdown for the Blue Devils to make it 37-7.

Joseph Theede also scored late for Victor. In total, the Blue Devils had four players find the endzone.

This game should give Victor the confidence they need headed into a tough semifinal matchup with Canandaigua, who were able to shut out Victor in the regular season. The two will square up at The College at Brockport next Friday at 8 p.m.
