For someone most believe will be the number one overall pick, Sam Darnold has multiple areas to give cause for concern—beginning with his elongated throwing motion.

Darnold's been working with former Bills quarterback Jordan Palmer during the pre-draft process, but says changing the motion isn't on their agenda.

"It doesn't change how fast I get the ball out. If I need to shorten up and get the ball in right now, I'm able to shorten my release and get it to them. But if I need to get it downfield, and this is something I've been talking to Jordan about, if I need to throw it downfield I've had a tendency of really cocking back and trying to let it go. Whereas I just need to get my hip through more and that's something I've been working on,” said Darnold.

The other big issue with Darnold is turnovers. This past season he paired 13 interceptions with 11 fumbles, losing nine of those—those numbers taking away from over 4,100 yards passing and 31 total touchdowns.

"I'm doing things to keep two hands on the ball in the pocket. I'm working on decision making. Watching all my film from last year. Watching all my turnovers last year and the year before that. I'm working hard at trying to improve myself every day and that's all I can do and that's all I'm doing,” said Darnold.

In the trade scenarios for the Bills, if Darnold is their guy, they'd have to hope Cleveland passes on him at one and then assume a move up to two would be necessary.
