ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Calling hours are Wednesday for the family of Louise Slaughter.

The 88-year-old congresswoman died Friday morning at a Washington, D.C. hospital where she was being treated after falling at her home.

Miller Funeral says it is expecting long lines outside as people come to pay their respects to Louise Slaughter's family — her three daughters and their families are all expected here for calling hours that begin at 2 p.m.

Miller Funeral knows that people like to prepare and know what to expect once inside and they say Slaughter's body was cremated.

Visitors can expect standard calling hours etiquette — it's a brief time to offer sympathy and share stories about Louise.

Miller says that there will be some sheriff deputies assisting outside with traffic flow and parking to ensure everyone's safety.

Miller Funeral is located near the corner of Jefferson Road and Winton Roard South in Henrietta.

Calling hours are  2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The general public is also welcome to attend the funeral service to celebrate the life of the well-known Democrat. That service is 11 a.m. Friday at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

The family started a new foundation, The Louise & Bob Slaughter Foundation, they say it is to support causes in the community. They do not have online donations set up yet, Miller Funeral says it will have envelopes available for anyone wishing to donate.

Contributions can also be mailed directly to the family. That address is 14 Manor Hill Drive, Fairport, 14450.
