In its 30 years, The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority completed 200 million trips to work, school, concerts and sporting events.

The NFTA is now looking to expand its service from downtown Buffalo to the University at Buffalo North Campus and all the way to the I-90.

Currently a study is underway to see how this would all impact the environment.

At least 100 residents attended a public meeting to share their thoughts on improving the project.

"I think having transit option such as this that have zero emissions is an important benefit to consider," said NFTA Ceo Kimberly Minkel.

The NFTA anticipates breaking ground on the project in 2025, but not before having more meetings with the public.

"We need more public transportation," said Robert Prescott who supports the project. "If Buffalo is ever to regain itself as a big major city we need to do things in a major city way. "
