The former Kenmore Police Chief facing federal drug charges has agreed to a plea deal.

Peter Breitnauer is scheduled to be in court on January 10, the U.S.  Attorney’s office confirms.

Breitnauer admitted to taking prescription pills from the state medication drop box housed at the police station. He was arrested in October for possessing hydrocodone pills.

At the time, there was no evidence the drugs were distributed for anything other than personal use.

He was facing up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
