The countdown continues until the newest restaurant on Walden Avenue opens its doors on November 29.

Chick-Fil-A already has a big following in Western New York. Cheektowoga Assistant Police Chief Michael Sliwinski said law enforcement officers are expecting more traffic during the first few days after the anxiously awaited restaurant's grand opening.

For the first three days, officers from the department will be on site to direct traffic and determine what patrols, if any, are needed thereafter.

The Walden Avenue area is known as a very commercial strip, Sliwinski said. "We want to be prepared for it, we don't want to be surprised!"

Ahead of Chick-Fil-A's grand opening, police took notes from previous store openings like Krispy Kreme's and Rochester's Chick-Fil-A opening.

"We've come up with a traffic plan to make things as smooth as possible," Sliwinksi said.

The first 100 people in line will get free Chick-Fil-A for a year.
