It's the Halloween season at Fantasy Island, and that means all the tricks and treats of Halloween Horror are back at the park.

"During the day you have everything from the cutest little pumpkin patch, hay bale mazes and trick-or-treat trails for the kids and at night you have all the terrifying ghosts, ghouls and monsters you've come to expect at Halloween Horror," said Doug Mandell, Fantasy Island marketing director.

New this year is midway madness a circus theme house of horrors where demonic clowns are ready to scare those brave enough to enter.

"The most important part is having scare actors available so we do there is bring them in and train them ourselves. We put them through the ghoul school and they learn to safely scare the guests," said Elliott Hunt, entertainment supervisor.

Before those actors can start scaring they pay a visit to makeup artist Daija Muniz showed me how she creates the ghouls that will keep guests on their toes.

"Someone would give me a description or a character I'd have to do and I'd think and come up with different ideas of how I'd come about that character," said Muniz.

The park's child-friendly activities begin at noon Saturdays and Sundays. Halloween Horrors opens at 5 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
