SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO — Schools across the Niagara Falls City School District had some extra students Tuesday morning. Why? It was part of the annual statewide "Dad Bring Your Kid to School Day." This is the eighth year the district has participated and each year it grows more and more, but now that it's over, what's next? Here are some tips from district leaders for all parents and guardians:

  • Have a daily conversation.
  • Ask questions like how was school, what did you learn, what was great about the day?
  • If there are any issues that pop up, touch base with his or her teacher.
  • Pre-k through third grade are critical times to start a support system. After that, studies show students start to fall behind and they don't catch up with their peers.
