WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — For six years, Bella Kids Pop Up Consignment Shop has been giving back to the local community through their pop-up shops, selling gently used children's items from consignors.

Each sale, they pick a different charity to partner up with and then donate part of the sales and any leftover items. This time, they teamed up with Foster Love Closet.

"I reached out to one of the founders of Foster Love Closet and learned more about what they do and what their mission is in the community and how they're filling a need within the foster families because so many of the foster children get placed and they go with nothing, not even a suitcase with their favorite toy," said Kristi Mora, Bella Kids Pop Up Consignment Shop Founder.

Only open for two weeks now, Cheryl Flick and her friends started Foster Love Closet after they saw the need in the community for foster families to be able to get the proper clothes and items they need for the children. Being foster parents themselves, they've seen this need first-hand.

"One of the kids that came with the most clothing of any of the 10 kids that we had come and he brought with him three pairs of shirts, three pairs of pants and the coat on his back and the shoes on his feet," Flick said.

Since Foster Love Closet doesn't charge for anything, getting donations and teaming up with other organizations like Bella Kids is essential. From this weekend’s sales, Bella Kids will match the cost of donations made, and any leftover items, consignors can choose to donate them as well. In addition to gently used items, they are also looking for new items like underwear and socks.

The pop-up sale runs all weekend long, with 50 percent off select items on Sunday located in the Transit Town Plaza.

Foster Love Closet accepts donations on Wednesday and Saturday at their location, Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden.
