There are new developments in a police chase stretching from Rochester to Batavia.

A Williamsville woman was arrested after that chase will be turned over to Cheektowaga Police. 35-year-old Tara Hackrott was wanted in the town on an outstanding warrant.

State police say she was a passenger in the car with 49-year-old Andrew Adeb Said.

He was arraigned in Batavia Town Court on reckless endangerment, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, and criminal mischief charges.

Said's now being held in Genesee County Jail without bail.

State Police say the nearly 30-mile chase started after a report of a larceny at a Sears store at a mall around 12:30 p.m. Friday. The suspect's vehicle was spotted by sheriff's deputies and a chase started, eventually traveling onto the thruway.

Authorities say a trooper fired his gun when the suspects drove at a police blockade.

The suspect's vehicle spun out of control after exiting the thruway at the Batavia exit. It crashed on Kelsey Road-- police say they caught both Said and Hackrott when they tried to run from the scene.

They were taken to a hospital in Rochester. Said is due back in court on the 27th.
